Philosophy

How I think about this work

Events are platforms, not executions

The question is never whether the room looked good. It is what the organisation gained by being in it. Objectives are agreed before anything is booked, and performance is reported afterwards against those objectives rather than against attendance.

Precedence is a discipline, not a courtesy

Order of arrival, seating, the sequence of introductions and who is walked to the car are decided in advance and written down. Done properly, nobody notices. Done badly, it is the only thing anyone remembers about the day.

Preparation is the whole job

Very little goes wrong on the day that was not already wrong three weeks earlier. The work is in the run of show, the briefings, the rehearsal and the contingency, not in the improvisation.

Measure it or do not do it

Participation is an investment decision. Leads, meetings, senior visitors and outcomes are captured and reported, so the following year's decision rests on evidence rather than habit.

Capabilities

What sits on my desk

Annual event calendars and the budget that carries them. Sponsorship evaluation, negotiation and value in kind recovery. Exhibition and pavilion programmes, from concept through build to lead capture. State, corporate and delegation protocol. Vendor selection, contracting and management. Executive visibility and speaking platforms. Crisis and change communication. Post event measurement, reporting and the case for the following year. Delivered in Arabic and English.
